CARBON MONOXIDE

According to the Centers for Disease Control, Fresh Air Exhaust reduces Carbon Monoxide and other harmful exhaust gasses by at least 90%.

Unless you boat is equipped with a catalytic converter, it produces lethal levels of Carbon Monoxide (greater than 10,000 ppm); levels strong enough to cause you to lose consciousness within about 3 minutes.  Sadly, deaths from drowning occur.  The little girl in this picture was sitting on the swim platform of the boat as it was traveling in a Fourth of July parade.  She was non-responsive when her father realized she had moved to the swim platform.  She spent several hours on oxygen in a hyperbaric chamber.

Even on boats with catalytic converters, the Centers for Disease Control recommends underwater exhaust (FAE) to further reduce Carbon Monoxide levels.  Without underwater exhaust you are still breathing the toxic fumes from a V8 gasoline engine.

REDUCE NOISE – IMPROVE STEREO

Fresh Air Exhaust is the quietest boat exhaust available and greatly improves the quality of your boat’s stereo.

Customers frequently comment that with FAE they only hear the sound of the water spray.  We’ve had one customer return his FAE because he said it was too quiet and another that said he had to make sure not to start the engine when it was already running.  Typically the louder your boat is now, the greater will be the noise reduction.

Independent testing confirms reduction in noise levels of 50% or more.  Tige Boats tested FAE to comply with the strict noise reduction standards in the European Union and recorded noise reductions of up to 9 decibels.

PERFORMANCE

Fresh Air Exhaust creates a suction as it moves forward through the water.  This suction helps to pull the exhaust out of the engine.  This is very similar to the exhaust configuration on outboard motors where the exhaust is pushed out through the propeller.

Most of our customers report no significant change in handling or wake, at all speeds; including surfing, wakeboarding or slalom skiing.  We even have a few barefooter customers.

Since there are so many variables with boats (hull design, prop size and pitch, ballast) we can’t predict how FAE will work on your boat (though experience tells us it will work well).  Therefore, we offer a very liberal return policy and yet have a less than 1% return rate.

THOUSANDS OF SATISFIED CUSTOMERS

I installed it on my boat and I can’t say enough about it. I always equated the end of the day headache with being up early, tired from skiing/wakeboarding all day, etc.

I can very honestly say, I have not had a headache after a day on the lake since I installed FAE.

I’m now realize that carbon monoxide was the culprit all these years. We have a 2 year old and another on the way, I would not own a boat without FAE. The Fresh Air Exhaust team is super responsive and great to work with.

MUFFLER REPLACEMENTS

Our boat started sinking!

We were taking on water; fast!  The floor of the boat was already covered.  Fortunately we were able to beach the boat quickly.  The muffler had distorted where it connected to the rubber hose near the transom.  We tightened the hose clamps and were able to continue our boating.

Later, upon inspecting the muffler it was apparent that the old fiberglass muffler was deteriorating.  There were several small cracks and holes in the fiberglass that had probably been leaking water (and CARBON MONOXIDE) into the boat for some time.  I replaced the fiberglass muffler with stainless steel tube and now my boat is even quieter.

Fresh Air Exhaust now makes stainless steel exhaust systems.  They are available without baffles to be used in conjunction with a FAE and they are available with baffles to be used without a FAE.  Either option will likely improve your boat’s engine performance; especially if your old muffler has collapsed internally.
